Myasnikovich: Belarus advocates equal terms for Belarus and Russia producers in SES

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) - Belarus stands for equal conditions for Belarusian and Russian manufacturers in the Single Economic Space (SES), Mikhail Myasnikovich said during the negotiations with Russian head of government Dmitry Medvedev on 18 July, BelTA learnt.

“I would like to underscore that our major goal is equal rights and equal conditions for our companies,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. In his words, the parties have made significant progress in the SES. But in fact no single market has been created yet, and this entails various exemptions and restrictions. “We need to eliminate these exemptions in order to develop a real single market, especially in the light of Russia’s accession to the WTO,” Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed.

Mikhail Myasnikovich thinks that some points and issues regarding transport services can be reviewed by the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Mikhail Myasnikovich pointed that Belarus and Russia have plenty of pressing issues for joint discussion This is a good sign as it shows that the Belarus-Russia integration is gaining momentum in many areas. Major issues of the partnership were discussed at a meeting with Alexander Lukashenko on 18 July.
